Pmped is a tool for maintaining a collection of photos where originals are kept unmodified (e.g. a collection of .raw files), but day-to-day use takes place on one or more sets of generated files, which may be resized, watermarked and/or edited in other ways.
Pmped makes it easy to automatically generate and maintain the general-use files, based on global and per-image settings. Pmped also provides a very basic interactive image editor for making per-image changes.
Requirements: Python 2.5+ and ImageMagick 6. Pmped is developed on an Ubuntu Linux system, but should work elsewhere as well. Let us know in the comments if you have any trouble!
Pmped was written by Bjarni R. Einarsson while traveling around Mexico with his girlfriend, an EeePC and a Pentax K200D camera. The couple keeps a set of raw image files on an external hard drive (named Spongebob Storagepants) and use Pmped to generate and edit smaller files for daily use on the EeePC and for publication on the web.
